Health Revealation Through Our Hands


Our body will send signs and symptoms when something’s wrong with our health. Most common is fever, runny nose, and cough.  But sometimes the signs can be misleading to the true condition of our body. Don’t you know that through our hands we can predict how healthy we are in the future? For instance, the length of our fingers, the state of our nails and the shade of our palms has something to say to the state of our health. Check out below if you have the following descriptions of your hands, so you can have the time to visit to your doctor.
1.       Swollen Fingers
What does it mean? It is known that salty foods and PMS can cause bloat. But if you ignore the shaker and still your rings don’t fit and your period isn’t due soon, this kind of swelling could suggest “hypothyroidism” which means the thyroid gland is under producing the hormones you need to regulate the metabolism in keeping the body to function properly. Thyroid problems can lead to sluggish metabolism, weight gain and water accumulation. If untreated, it can cause fatigue, low libido and heart failure. So, if you have seen your fingers like these you better consult your doctor to prevent the disease to a serious one.
2. Red Palms.
What does it mean? Itchy and burning red palms may suggest that you have eczema. It is a chronic skin disorder that can worsen especially when you’re stressed. To prevent or limit the irritation, avoid using or touching chemicals that will trigger the irritation. Instead try using a soapless cleansers and by wearing gloves when washing or cleaning. Redness on palms also indicate an allergy to nickel in jewelry, chemicals in products or if you’re taking antibiotics. If you still experiencing the redness on your palms despite of the remedies you’ve taken, it is now best to consult a doctor for proper treatment and prevention.
3.       Pale Finger
Naturally, nails should turn white when you press them but will return to pinkish when you release them.  But if your nails stay white after releasing for more than a minute, it indicate that you may have anemia or low iron. Iron deficiency can lead to fatigue and heart problems. To avid such problem, you need to eat foods rich in iron such as lean meat, spinach, dark green leafy vegetables, legumes, nuts and foods rich in vitamin C.
4.       Numb and Blue Fingers
Blue-hued fingers may indicate a state called Raynaud’s disease, wherein a temporary blood vessel spasm that constricts the blood flows to the fingers which causes the numbness. It is more common in women and usually occurred and triggered in a cool temperature or stress. It is considered a chronic disease but it’s not a huge health worry unless numbness will last for more than an hour. If it happened, immediately go to your doctor for proper treatment. This can be avoided by cutting out cigarettes and go easy on caffeine, both will constrict blood vessels. Exercise regularly, it will keep the blood pumping.

5. Discolored Nails
Off-color nails can result from fungus but can be also a warning sign for diabetes. You better check your blood sugar or change your food habits such as swapping out processed foods for a healthy complex carbs. But if nail discoloration is caused from a nail polish, try applying a tooth whitening product to the discolored nails.
